Participant Terms and Conditions

The Trek For Life Aotearoa/NZ 2021 event involves walking, mountain biking and horse riding on private property, trails and public roads that are used by other people/vehicles/traffic. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully:

By participating in this event I declare that:

1.     I am in an appropriate physical condition to participate in the Event.

2.     I have taken medical advice on any pre-existing medical conditions, and confirm that it is medically safe for me to participate in the Event, and I have notified the Event Organisers of any such conditions.

3.     I acknowledge that there are risks and hazards involved in the Event. I am aware of the hazards associated in general when walking, mountain biking or horse riding, and understand that my participation in this event exposes me to all associated hazards.

4.     I fully realise the dangers of participating in the Event, and fully assume the risks associated with my participation and my wellbeing and safety during and after the Event.  I understand and acknowledge that the Event organisers (including all officials and event volunteers) provide no guarantees regarding my wellbeing and safety.

5.     I understand and agree that situations may arise during the Event, which may be beyond the immediate control of the Event organisers (including all officials and event volunteers).

6.     I will participate in the Event, in a manner that does not endanger either me or others, and understand that the Event Organisers may ask me to leave should my behaviour or actions be unacceptable.

7.     I agree that to the extent permissible by law, the Event organisers (including all officials and event volunteers), the sponsors and other parties associated with the Event, have no liability to me whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss, (including, but not limited to injury or death) sustained by me during or in any way related to my participation in the Event.

8.     I authorise the use of my name, voice, picture and information on this entry form in any broadcast, telecast, promotion, advertising, and in any other way, without payment to me or any other form of compensation.

9.     I agree to comply with the rules and regulations pertaining to the Event, and any directives from Event Organisers throughout the event.

10.   I agree to follow all reasonable safety instructions provided to me by the Event organisers, (including all officials and event volunteers) before, during and after the Event.

11.   I consent to receiving medical treatment in the event of illness or injuries suffered during or immediately after the Event.

12.    In the event of a natural disaster that results in the trek being cancelled transferal or refunds are at the digression of the Trek for Life Aotearoa/NZ Charitable Trust.

13. The deposit is non-refundable.

13.   Cancellations: All deposits are non-refundable. Refunds of the remaining fees are at the discretion of management.

Volunteer Terms and Conditions

Participation in this event means that I declare that all information provided is accurate and correct.

1.     Acknowledge that I am joining this event as a volunteer, and that I will not be paid for my time. I understand that I am responsible for my own travel and costs to get to the Event.

2.     Have read and understood Volunteer Information Pack, I have completed the application form to the best of my knowledge, and am fit, healthy, able and qualified to complete my selected jobs.

3.     Will participate in the Event, in a manner that does not endanger either me or others, and understand that the Event Organisers may ask me to leave should my behaviour or actions be unacceptable.

4.     Agree that to the extent permissible by law, if I am at any time engaged in any activity that does not fall under the category of my job description or is a necessary adjunct to the Trek for Life 2020, or is a result of my own negligence the Event Organisers (including all officials), the sponsors, landowners and any other parties associated with the Event, have no liability to me whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss, (including, but not limited to injury or death) sustained by me during as a result of my actions outside my activities as a volunteer.

5.     Authorise the use of my name, voice, picture and information on this entry form in any broadcast, telecast, promotion, advertising, and in any other way, without payment to me or any other form of compensation.

6.     Agree to comply with the rules and regulations pertaining to the Event, and any directives from Event Organisers throughout the event.

7.     Agree to follow all reasonable safety instructions provided to me by the Event organisers before, during and after the Event.

8.     Consent to receiving medical treatment in the event of illness or injuries suffered during or immediately after the Event.
